ARTastic March 2013: THAT LOOK

This months challenge comes from Australian portrait artist Julia Sattout. Its a beautiful portrait of a little girl in pink. Fortunately the criteria this month is only 'portrait' as we don't have many little girls or PINK around here. I couldn't resist this photo of Daren with a look that I see often...

ARTastic Feb 2013 - Boys on the Beach

It's been a while since I did an ARTistic challenge, but this based on Charles Meere's painting "Australia Beach Pattern" presented an easy challenge of a beachy layout.
Again using older photos, this time Aidan at 10, Leigh at 8 1/2 playing on the beach at Phillip Island (Jan 1996).

Soul Scrappers: SSQ15 - 9 Shades of Daren

I love these SSQ challenges, you get a small package of items to make up a layout - you never know what you are getting and the challenge invites you to use ALL the items.

To get this layout, my long suffering DH was very cooperative with a photo shoot. I'm really happy with the result.

Soul Scrappers - THC 57 "The Heat & The Flies"

Liz has set us a double challenge this month, to use a minimum 5 photos with a holiday/travel theme.
Daren and I ventured to Mt Kosciuzsko in January, during a heat wave, where only the flies were enjoying themselves. Amazing scenery, bloody flies!!

Soul Scrappers - WC18 "Believe"

Mary's last word challenge before she sets us a new challenge thread. This time the word was BELIEVE. I've used some recent photos of Leigh, taken on Christmas Day, 2012.

Soul Scrappers SC60 "I am 5"

Another sketch Challenge, and another layout using older photos, this time of Aidan celebrating his 5th birthday (some 21 years ago!!)

Soul Scrappers - ATW1 - Australia Day

Soul Scrappers have a new challenge this month - Around the World.
ATW1 is a layout inspired by some photos of Australia.
Can't go past our celebrations for Australia Day, 2013.

Soul Scrappers NSC19 - TKG

Another simple layout using up some unscrapped old photos, this time of Aidan at 21 months having fun at Toddler Kindy Gymbaroo.

Scrapbook Boutique Jan 2013 challenge

the challenge this month is to use green/ yellow and white. This is an old BG series, but it works well... Thanks Scrapbooking Boutique for another great challenge

Soul-Scrappers NSC14

Over at Soul the current NSC14 challenge is up and running. While I'm not a 'NSC' girl, I don't mind a challenge and actually managed to do this one (but I did have to add a little bunting)

The photo is another 'oldie' of my eldest Aidan, at age 9, when he was invited as part of the VicHit team to do a demonstration on the MCG. As you can imagine he was pretty excited.

ARTastic Sept 2012

The challenge over at ARTastic this month is to find inspiration from "The prophetic calamity" by Shannon Crees (Graffiti Artist) and to add a bit of 'doodling'.
I must say that doodling is NOT my thing, but I did find some grafitti art and managed a layout for my 'Book of Me'. (PS there is a little doodling around the edge).

SCREEN2SCRAP - August 2012.

What is is about MEERCATS? I have recently had the joy of a day taking photographs at the Melbourne Zoo. This little fellow posed for such a long time you would think he was a movie star (or perhaps the security guard).

Over at Screen 2 Scrap it's birthday time. There are several different challenges to choose from. I've chosen to do a sketch by Debi Clark.

And some more late ones....

Soul-Scrappers Quote Challenge (QC13) "Enjoy the little things".

Soul-Scrappers Sketch Challenge (SC 53)

Soul Scrappers - THC 51 - Sport

Over at Soul Scrappers the Theme challenge (THC 51) is SPORT. Well we live in a household that has spent their lives on the sports field (athletics, footy, soccor, swimming, bushwalking, skiing....) so this wasn't a hard one.

Photos are of Leigh at 6 years of age, on his first day of little athletics.

Scrapbook Boutique July 12 - Ahoy Sailor

Scrapbook Boutique's inspiration this month is for BOYS - yeah!!!
Can't go past a boy/ outdoor/ beach theme.

This layout is again from some old photos, taken in 1995 while on holiday. It's actually on a white background (looks a little blue here - sorry)

Soul Scrappers THC 49: Charlton

The theme challenge at Soul this month is "HOME". I've had this photo for a while, after visiting my old home a few years ago. It tells the story of our family's home in Charlton, a new and proud place in 1958, now a derelict and unloved commission house.
This layout is part of my BOM.
