Using KaiserCraft "Velvet Ensemble"

I've had a play with Kaiser's new 6x6 pad from their 'Velvet Ensemble' Range. I love the earthy colors an even the fussy cutting was a page from the paper pad. I'm pretty happy with them and they wre cheap and quick cards to make.

Card and a Half - Challenge 4

The first challenge for this month is to use texture. I've used a cor'dinations cardstock with a clock emboss and some papers from the new KaiserCraft range - Black & White Timeless. The Monarch butterfly is my new punch.

RERT Week 12 - "1-today"

Happy Birthday to RES and congratulations to Helen for achieving this milestone with a smile still on her face and a lovely little store and forum to boot.
This weeks challenge is based on the balloon festival in Canowindra (where Helen lives) and I had to add a home made, paper pierced hot air balloon. This layout is of my youngest son's 1st birthday, and I love the look on his older brothers face.

The Red Earth Road Trip is now over, the only think left to do is to air out the sleeping bag, and start planning for the next trip (or perhaps that should say, clean out the scrap room and buy
some more supplies!!!)
Thank you to Helen and her creative team for a fun 3-month journey around Australia with some great company, some great challenges and lots of fun.

Card and a Half

Very sad news to hear about Helen's husband, tragically killed in a car accident in Far North Queensland. My thoughts are with you, and your gorgeous boys, Helen, and wishing you strength and courage to face the times ahead.
While I'm sure that Helen's energy is elsewhere at the moment, I still wanted to do this challenge, to continue my support for her wonderful blog. The theme for this challenge is - Flowers.

RERT Week 11 - Carlton's #1 Draft Pick

We are almost home! This week we are in Canberra with floriade and parliament providing inspiration for the challenges. My layout is of my great nephew, Nathan, an avid Carlton supporter. The challenge here was a sketch.

Crafty sketches - Aug 2011 "MY BOYS"

This is the first sketch I've done for Crafty Sketches, and I like the look of the sketches provide. This layout is with a photo (from 1991) when my boys were little and cute! I've used the Kaiser range 'party animals'.

SCRAPJACK Aug 2011 - It's About Time

This month I have scrapjacked Sarah's lovely layout, taking inspiration from her use of multiple photos and her flag banner. It's a lovely layout Sarah, it's so simple yet so effective (and I do like to work with B&W photo too.

Screen 2 Scrap (August 2011) YOU & ME

Screen 2 Scrap's challenge this month is to use the movie poster "Holiday Inn" as inspiration, and the additional requirements included: 1. some sheet music, 2. a 2 colored title and 3. the colors red & navy. I think I've met all the requirements with this layout of Daren and myself, taken last Christmas. I've tried not to make it too Christmassy, but rather just a layout about US!!

ARTastic Aug 2011 - What a long face

ARTastic Blog challenge for August is to use inspiration from the painting 'The Playing Claude Renoir'. The additional requirements were to have a photo of a child playing, ribbon and a painted/ inked background.
My photo is of Leigh (almost 3) at playgroup.

August Card and a Half

Hi Helen, having a go at your August challenge. Its a nice simple sketch this month that you could have quite a bit of interpretation with. Loving the work on your site too!

RERT Wk 10 "Lyla on a sunny day"

Week 10 sees the Red Earth Road Trip heading to Emerald in Queensland, with a challenge to use scalloping on the layout and card. I've picked a sunny kind of Queensland theme as well. The (not so) secret item (flower) is also visible.

CMIT - August. Are you ready?

Creating Memories In Time have proposed a challenge that marks the end of summer, and the start of the school year.  This layout contains an old picture, back in 1992 when my eldest started school. Unfortunately this is the only photo we have (and oh how different we would do things today!). Don't you love the jeans?

RERT Weeek 9 Barossa Valley - Where the heck is FISH CREEK

This week's challenge is to do a double (about anything), so I've pulled out some old photos of a farm holiday at Fish Creek (near Wilsons Prom), and added the secret item (leaves)
