I've used PP from Kaiser's Mini Kit - melody of life

Soul-Scrappers NSC14

Over at Soul the current NSC14 challenge is up and running. While I'm not a 'NSC' girl, I don't mind a challenge and actually managed to do this one (but I did have to add a little bunting)

The photo is another 'oldie' of my eldest Aidan, at age 9, when he was invited as part of the VicHit team to do a demonstration on the MCG. As you can imagine he was pretty excited.

ARTastic Sept 2012

The challenge over at ARTastic this month is to find inspiration from "The prophetic calamity" by Shannon Crees (Graffiti Artist) and to add a bit of 'doodling'.
I must say that doodling is NOT my thing, but I did find some grafitti art and managed a layout for my 'Book of Me'. (PS there is a little doodling around the edge).

SCREEN2SCRAP - August 2012.

What is is about MEERCATS? I have recently had the joy of a day taking photographs at the Melbourne Zoo. This little fellow posed for such a long time you would think he was a movie star (or perhaps the security guard).

Over at Screen 2 Scrap it's birthday time. There are several different challenges to choose from. I've chosen to do a sketch by Debi Clark.

And some more late ones....

Soul-Scrappers Quote Challenge (QC13) "Enjoy the little things".

Soul-Scrappers Sketch Challenge (SC 53)

Red Earth Scrapping - July Sketch Challenge

Just catching up

I can't believe how far behind I have got, having last posted here in July. I have recently been accepted on the Design Team for Soul-Scrappers so much of my time and attention has been over there doing the challenges that support the other DT members.
Here is a collection of layouts that I have done over the past month:

Soul-Scrappers Word challenge - BELIEVE (WC13)

Soul-Scrappers Quote Challenge (QC 14)
Life Begings when you step outside your comfort Zone

Soul-Scrappers Cooking Challenge (CUCC7)
(woodgrain, inkspots, photo, ribbon, negative space)

Soul-Scrappers Negative Sketch Challenge (NS13)

Soul-Scrappers - Song Lyric Challenge (SLC12)
Based on the lyrics of "Who let the dogs out">

Soul Scrappers - THC 51 - Sport

Over at Soul Scrappers the Theme challenge (THC 51) is SPORT. Well we live in a household that has spent their lives on the sports field (athletics, footy, soccor, swimming, bushwalking, skiing....) so this wasn't a hard one.

Photos are of Leigh at 6 years of age, on his first day of little athletics.

Scrapbook Boutique July 12 - Ahoy Sailor

Scrapbook Boutique's inspiration this month is for BOYS - yeah!!!
Can't go past a boy/ outdoor/ beach theme.

This layout is again from some old photos, taken in 1995 while on holiday. It's actually on a white background (looks a little blue here - sorry)

Soul Scrappers THC 49: Charlton

The theme challenge at Soul this month is "HOME". I've had this photo for a while, after visiting my old home a few years ago. It tells the story of our family's home in Charlton, a new and proud place in 1958, now a derelict and unloved commission house.
This layout is part of my BOM.

RES mystery box challenge: Meet my friend

I'm not sure I actually got the mystery box right this month, but this is the layout I made for it. The photo is from 1995, of Aidan and Leigh on a visit to Currumbin Sanctuary.

Soul Scrappers CCU4/ Retreat layout 3: Blokes Business

I've been a bit cheeky and used this layout for 2 challenges. The first is from the Soul Scrappers CCU4 challenge using twine/ banners/ buttons and the second from a challenge from our recent retreat to use some lines from a friendship poem.
This layout tells the story of my DH and my best friends new DH (the wedding I photographed), getting to know each other over dinner. I hope their friendship is as strong as ours is.

3SSS Kit challenge: A tick off the bucket list

I recently went on retreat with a group of women from a website "ScrapChat". It was a fun, nurturing, scrapping weekend with beatiful food, friends and laughs. This layout was part of a Secret Swap Kit challenge and tells the story of my DH's first parachute jump (a christmas present that he could not use until 3 months after his cardiac stent). My secret swapper provided the cardstock/ PP's and embellishments for this layout.

Screen2Scrap: June 2012: Who killed Dr. Max.

Screen2Scrap's inspiration this month comes from the movie poster "Hairspray". The additional requirements include Bright colors, 10 squares and something hair related.
This layout tells the story of my recent work retreat, where we hosted a 'who killed...' plot over dinner. Each of my colleagues took their roles seriously, with some bad hair, very funny overacting and wonderful costumes. I played the role of forensic photographer, which gave me permission to take photographs all night.

Stuck Sketches June 2012: Love that car

I was on scrap retreat last weekend, and ended up doing 2 layouts that matched the Stuck?!Sketches sketch. This one is a story about my old car - sent off to gemini heaven after 363,000kms from new. She was one special car.

Stuck Sketches: June 2012: IRONMAN in training

I'm so proud of Leigh undertaking his first triathlon with his work mates as part of the 'corporate triathlon series'. He is such a wonderful athlete, I hope he continues to keep fit and compete in something. Papers are from Echo Park, 'A boy's life'.

Crafty Sketches: June 2012

Another old photo - of Aidan, taken in 1989 playing at Tumble Tots. A nice easy sketch using Echo Park 'A boy's life' papers.

Soul Scrappers SLC9 - "I care"

This was a tough challenge. Over at Soul, the monthly song/ lyric challenge was to take inspiration from the song Care - by Kid Rock. I was reminded of some photos I took in the US last year, of homeless and destitute people, living on the streets in San Francisco, and the struggle I have taking photos of these people. The journalling tells the story

Soul Scrappers - SC52 "Where's that mouse"

over at Soul the latest sketch challenge was a multi-photo challenge. I couldn't go past this series of our gorgeous Bridie, the ever patients mouse catcher. AT 12 1/2 years of age, she is still a puppy at heart and we love her dearly.

Soul Scrappers WC10 - Fun is Good

I'm a bit behind in updating my scrapping blog, so while it's been quiet here, I have been busy.
This layout was made for Soul Scrappers, using the word "FUN" for inspiration. I have so many photos of my youngest playing the clown it was hard to choose which photo (again a photo that is 22 years old!)

Soul Scrappers ISD3 - One lucky mum

Over at Soul Scrappers there is a week long series of challenges to celebrate International Scrapbooking Day. This one is about mothers....

RES April CC Amanda's Challenge: "Brothers and Friends"

Amanda's challenge for the april CyberCrop was a sketch - but had to incorporate the theme of 'friends'.

This photo is probably 23 years old.. but I still love it.

RES April 'Mystery Box Challenge" Coach Captain Joe

Anther month passes at RES and this layout is for the April Mystery Box Challenge. For this challenge you needed:
1 or more paper flower, 2 Alphabets 3 Patterned Papers & some twine. The photos are from our US trip last year, and Joe was our driver - one cool dude who we named 'the coach captain'.

RES May Sketch/ STUCK!?Sketches: Moments

Over at Red Earth Scrapping, we were encouraged to use the May Stuck!?Sketches sketch, and add some flowers/ butterflies.

Most of you know that I am not a pink girl, but my friends wedding photos needed some feminine touches - so don't let anyone tell you that I don't do PINK!!!

RES/ Stuck!?Sketches April Sketch: PLAY

Stuck!?Sketches April Challenge/ RES April Sketch Challenge. This month I have added to my BOM, after I found an old school photo of me in Grade 2. I have so few pictures of me at this age it was a real treasure.

Soul Scrappers - THC 48 - The Couch

Over at Soul Scrappers the Theme challenge for the month is "Weddings". This is an easy one for me, as I have just photographed my best friends wedding and have oodles of photographs to scrap. I've chosen this one, of the whole family on the couch - it's a personal one as I used 'The couch' as a last minute prop, having discovered it in the morning of the wedding, and having it delivered to the garden. In hindsight it was a real risk, that paid off as I love the atmnosphere that it created. I've used the Kaiser "Sweet Nothings' collection, which matched the colors of the couch so well.

Soul Scrappers WC9 - Create

Word Challenge 9 - invites you to use the word 'CREATE' to make a layout. This photos is one that was taken of me, during a month long challenge I set myself to take a photo of me every day for a month.

Scrapbook Boutique - April 2012 "Today"

Over at Scrapbook Boutique the theme is very pretty - pink, green and white. While you know I am not a girly girl (and I don't do much pink) these colors were perfect for a layout about my best friends wedding, held just a fortnight ago. She looked so beautiful I can just cry...

Screen2Scrap (April 2012)- Ready to marry Prince Charming

I've just photographed my best friends wedding - not that I am a professional photographer, just a good friend who was trusted with her special day.
This would have to be one my favorite photos from the day and it fits in nicely with S2S's April Challenge. The inspiration is to come from the movie poster "Ever After' with additional criteria to include a) a cinderella story, b) some bling (on the butterflies) and c) journalling

Soul Scrappers - Quote Challenge 9 - Life is Too Short

Today's layout is for a quote challenge over at Soul Scappers. The inspiration was the Dr. Zeuss quote "life it too short", and again I've used a golden oldie of a photo, of Leigh at age 3 1/2. The papers are from the new Echo Park mini packs.

SOUL SCRAPPERS - SC50 - Men in Black

Another Soul Scrappers Challenge - this time the monthly sketch challenge. The photos were from my best friend's wedding, and my 2 boys pretending to be her security guards. It was such a relaxed and fun wedding...

SOUL SCRAPPERS - SSQ12 - "Highway 66"

SSQ12 is a wonderful challenge on the Soul Scrappers site. You get sent an envelope of goodies (content unknown until you open it) and have to make a layout (or OTP) using ALL of the goodies. The theme this time was TRAVEL and this is my first time I've been part of this...

My layout "Hightway66" was from when we were in America last year, travelling down Highway 66....

Soul Scrappers (THC47) - Never Too Young

Over at Soul Scrappers they have put out a new challenge - The Theme Challenge for this month is 'Domestic Bliss'. Well those words are not actually in my vocabulary (slave labour, chores, life's necessity mabye, but not bliss!!)
But this photo matches perfectly, it's 20 years old and was taken whilst summer camping at Harrietville in 1990.

Screen2Scrap Mar 2012 - Another little CATS fan

This is sadly the only photo I have of my new great nephew, born last September. The photo fitted well with this months S2S requirements (1. White background with a touch of blue, 2. a single photo and 3. a white title). Another great S2S challenge from Shazza.

Stuck?!Sketches/ RES sketch challenge Mar 2012 - DARGO RIVER

This is the second of the sketches for Stuck?!Sketches this month. It's been a quiet month scrapping for me, and this layout is one reason why. A 4 day break camping in Victoria's beautiful high country. I've used the new Kaiser range - Little Woods'.

Red Earth Scrapping - "Thickers" weekend

Over at Red Earth Scrapping they are having a product focus weekend - with THICKERS being this month's product. Well I have over 80 packets. collected over the years and never thrown out. Many are almost empty packets (but you never know when you might need a few letters). Here is my "thickers" challenge. This photo was taken in New York, on Broadway before we went to see Mary Poppins. Yes, It's a corny photo.....

Soul Scrappers - STYD Travel challenge

Another Soul Scrapping Challenge, this time a Shop Till You Drop Challenge, visiting a travel agent. The criteria was: 3 photos, 5 embellishments and a journal tag. This is my entry:

Soul Scrappers - 'New York' (SLC6)

I was cruising around the internet for a challenge to do, and found the perfect one as Soul Scrappers. For this you had to take inspiration from R.E.M's song title "Shiny, Happy, People". I thought these photos of Times Square, in New York, and in the rain perfect.

CRAFTY SKETCHES feb 2012 - Just add water

Daring you to Scrap - Feb 12 - Child of Mine

This is the first time I've done a challenge on Daring You To Scrap, a newish blog challenge site. The challenge was to use a song title/ lyrics as the main design element on the page. The photo is another 'oldie', taken in Dec 1991 and the song is from Carole King 'Sweet Child of Mine'.

Scrapbook Boutique - Feb Inspiration Challenge

And another inspiration challenge from Scrapbook Boutique. Firstly they have a fun blog hop to do, visiting the Design Team's blogs to see how they interpreted this months challenge. Why no visit: http://scrapbookboutiquenews.blogspot.com.au/, the work there is wonderful.

This months's inspiration again comes from 'cupcakes' with the colors of pink/ red and white. Well I didn't do so well with pink and red, so stuck with pink/ black/ grey and white from the Echo Park "BE MINE" range.
